👋 From the Assemble team,
Sport continues to evolve as both an industry and a community driver. At Assemble, we believe it is important to find the links and connections from top to bottom in sport and not think of them as separate industries.
From grassroots registrations to billion-dollar deals, the through-line is simple: participation today builds enterprise value tomorrow.

Partnership in Action: Archery Australia & Assemble Sports

Eighteen months ago, Archery Australia set out to modernise its systems after more than a decade on a legacy platform. Together, in a short period of time, we’ve delivered:
- Safety-first membership approvals s new archers are cleared before competing.
- Renewal-based memberships aligned to the sport’s structure.
- Digital membership cards, cutting costs and giving members instant access.
- Streamlined portals for events, coaches and officials.
The results: faster admin, stronger reporting, and a smoother member experience nationwide.
“We asked for things that were specific to our sport, and they came back with solutions. That made a big difference.” – Mick Maclennan, Archery Australia

Product Feature: Membership Approval

Assemble’s participant first approach means that we aim to remove friction in the registration process. When one of our clients said they wanted to approve every membership registration as they came through - we were a bit reluctant as it adds another step in the process.
However, we recognised that this is very important for some sports where there may be a safety element involved so we committed to building this process into the platform as an option for sports with the imperative of giving control whilst not hindering the overall registration process. So we worked on a solution that met our sport's needs but maintained flexibility.
Admins now have tighter control over who joins and when with Membership Approval.
- Safer onboarding – new members aren’t confirmed until checks and approvals are complete by the admin
- Toggle by Membership - not every Membership may require an approval - toggle on and off by membership
- Toggle by Returning or New members - admins can select whether existing/returning members need to be approved again or just brand new members.
- Cleaner workflows – lock requirements to keep compliance tight.
It’s fast, safer, and purpose-built for sports where such oversight is critical.
Outside-the-box Sports Market Insight: What 6th Street’s $65B Strategy Says About Sport

On the Invest Like the Best podcast, Alan Waxman of 6th Street Capital (managing $65B+) shared their five-year strategy. Their approach to strategy and investment objective involves the review and consideration of thousands of themes and 18 months of research. After all this analysis - one of their top 3 convictions emerged: sport and live entertainment.
Why it matters? If the smartest capital in the world is betting on sport as a top secular growth market, then local clubs and leagues should take notice.
Participation breeds stars, stars attract fans, and fans drive broadcast and sponsorship value. Assemble’s role: remove friction so more people play, register, and stay in the system.
